| 4/8/08 - Fortified Holdings Corp. (OTCBB: FFDH) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Fortified DataCom has been awarded a contract to deliver and support the field deployment of NOMAD Tactical Access Points from the New York City Fire Department (NYFD). The FDNY protects more than 8,000,000 residents in an area of 320 square miles and consists of more than 11,400 Fire fighters. In addition, the Department includes 2,800 Paramedics assigned to the Bureau of Emergency Medical Service (EMS), as well as 1200 civilian employees. Fortified participated in a recent NYFD exercise where several NOMAD Tactical Access Point ("TAP") systems were deployed. The systems were met with a positive response leading to the subsequent purchase by the department. The order consists of an initial six devices which will be customized to meet the unique needs of the New York Fire Department. NYFD seeks to leverage the custom hardware design and technology integration capabilities of Fortified DataCom to develop an optimal solution for its citywide needs. The NOMAD Tactical Access Point (TAP) Series of Mobile Ad Hoc Mesh Networking Devices (MAMNET) provide geographically dispersed personnel or wireless clients, access to, or replacement of, existing telecom and network services that have been disrupted or no longer exist. Fortified DataCom's self-forming, self-healing network technology can be deployed by a single person in less than 5 minutes to create a long range wireless broadband mesh network. This network is capable of supporting citywide and even statewide implementations and can be built up to support a broad array of users and sensors quickly and easily. "The New York Fire department is a forward-looking and innovative organization," stated Seth Block of Fortified DataCom, "What we have shown NYFD is that we don't say no to requests that improve performance, and that we are also innovators and have the ability to change direction quickly if the project requires it. Our culture is to be completely open and responsive to the needs of our clients." With this purchase, NYFD has undertaken a technology choice that joins with similar decisions made by the likes of FEMA, DHS, U.S. Coast Guard Deployable Operations Group (DOG) and NORTHCOM's Joint Task Force for Civil Support, the City of New Orleans and a rapidly growing list of others currently deploying Fortified's NOMAD technology.
